It has been a few days since returning from Africa. As it often happens in such moments, on the one hand the memories of lived emotions are still vivid, and on the other—the everyday reality that awaits after coming back. Let this be my excuse for the delay in sending this update.
Saying goodbye to Gode and the Mission of Hope is always deeply moving. You leave behind not only days and events, but above all people. They are the ones you want to return to as soon as you step onto the plane. Those who remain in Gode—Sr. Joachim, her co-workers, the children and their mothers. Of course, they do not remain just a memory, because the Mission of Hope Association still has work to do…
And the needs remain: in Gode the bus and the car are still broken; there is still the daily cup of milk to provide, and—if possible—new jobs to create for women. In all this, as an Association, we will do our best to participate, and we warmly invite everyone to join us in this mission.
